Orthosiphon, mouse-ear hawkweed and centella to support fluid drainage and leg comfort

Drenup is a liquid supplement made with botanical extracts. It is formulated to support the body’s natural fluid drainage and normal microcirculation as part of a wellness routine.

The formula combines orthosiphon, blackcurrant, rhodiola, griffonia, pineapple, mouse-ear hawkweed, horsetail, centella and dandelion, botanicals selected for their distinct functional properties.

Drenup is designed for daily use, with a focus on heavy legs, natural fluid drainage and general well-being.

Water retention and heavy legs: the role of microcirculation

Water retention occurs when fluid builds up in the spaces between tissues. It can cause swelling, tightness and a feeling of heaviness in the lower limbs.

Physical inactivity, high temperatures, hormonal changes and prolonged standing can contribute to these symptoms.

Microcirculation helps exchange fluids and other substances between the blood and tissues. Regular movement, a balanced diet and adequate hydration are therefore important for leg comfort.

Orthosiphon, mouse-ear hawkweed and horsetail: natural fluid drainage

The combination of orthosiphon, mouse-ear hawkweed and horsetail is central to the Drenup formula.

Orthosiphon (Orthosiphon stamineus) has traditionally been used in botanical preparations for fluid drainage.

Mouse-ear hawkweed (Hieracium pilosella) is used to support the body’s natural elimination of fluids, while horsetail (Equisetum arvense) complements the blend with its traditional use for fluid drainage.

This combination makes Drenup a plant-based supplement for fluid drainage that can be incorporated into wellness programmes.

Blackcurrant, centella and pineapple: microcirculation and skin health

Blackcurrant (Ribes nigrum) is used in formulations designed to support normal microcirculation.

Centella asiatica is a botanical ingredient of interest in formulations for microcirculatory health and the appearance of cellulite.

Pineapple (Ananas comosus) rounds out the botanical blend, complementing the formula’s focus on fluid drainage and tissue health.

Together, these extracts complement Drenup’s focus on fluid drainage with an emphasis on microcirculation and skin appearance.

Rhodiola, griffonia and dandelion: support for general well-being

The formula contains other botanical extracts with complementary roles.

Rhodiola (Rhodiola rosea) is traditionally used as a tonic and adaptogen, particularly during periods of physical and mental fatigue.

Griffonia (Griffonia simplicifolia) is used in formulations for appetite control, while dandelion (Taraxacum officinale) is used to support bowel regularity.

These ingredients round out the Drenup formula, which is designed to complement nutrition and wellness programmes.

Scientific evidence on fluid drainage and microcirculation

Researchers have investigated the properties of some of the botanical extracts in Drenup.

An experimental study in the Journal of Ethnopharmacology assessed the diuretic properties of Orthosiphon stamineus and found dose-dependent activity in an animal model. These findings help explain the rationale for using orthosiphon in formulations for fluid drainage.

A 2013 systematic review examined eight clinical studies of Centella asiatica in chronic venous insufficiency. It reported improvements in some measures of microcirculation and related symptoms and identified methodological limitations in the studies reviewed.
