Synovial Fluid Substitute for Restoring Rheological Conditions and Pain Relief
ARTOX 2% (40 mg) is a Class III CE medical device, classified as a synovial fluid substitute. It consists of Hyaluronic Acid Sodium Salt 2.0% (40 mg in 2 ml), obtained by bacterial fermentation, therefore not of animal origin. The product is pyrogen-free and comes in 2 ml pre-filled syringes.
Thanks to its viscoelastic and lubricating properties, ARTOX 2% is injected directly into the joint to:
- Restore the rheological conditions (viscosity and lubrication) of synovial fluid, altered in degenerative or post-traumatic conditions.
- Provide relief from painful symptoms and improve joint functionality.
- Enhance endogenous Hyaluronic Acid biosynthesis, thanks to better affinity with HA receptors.

In-depth action: ARTOX 2% is distinguished by its high concentration of Hyaluronic Acid (HA) at an optimal molecular weight that gives it better viscoelastic properties compared to products with very high molecular weight HA (> 4000 kDa).
This higher concentration offers greater protection to the synovial fluid and restoration of the mechanical properties of articular cartilage under stress. The recommended treatment involves an initial cycle of three injections (one per week), followed by maintenance sessions, if necessary.
